Abstract

Smart Home devices as an efficient and novel technological system has transformed the consumer market. With providing ease of living and convenience to working women through its innovative offerings. Over the years, scholars have focused extensively on smart home devices adoption across various segments, while the perception of the working women towards acceptance of smart home devices has been less explored. Moreover, such studies have been confined to the Western and developed regions, and less focus has been on emerging economies . Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the factors influencing the acceptance of smart home devices amongst the working women of India. This study proposes a unique framework combining constructs from the UTAUT framework in addition to privacy, security aspects of smart home devices acceptance. The sample size of 320working women from 5 smart cities of Northern India were incorporated for the study, to determine the critical factors influencing the acceptance of smart home devices employing SPSS 26, AMOS 25 analytical tools. The results reveal significant influence of privacy , security , performance expectancy , effort expectancy and awareness about the smart home devices on acceptance of smart home devices amongthe working women of India. The study contributes theoretically to the growing body of research on Smart home devices acceptance  along with practical implications for marketers from the Indian workingwomen’s perspective.
